A fully qualified International Mountain Leader Phil has been safely operating in remote and extreme locations across the world for over 20 years.He has a proven track record of safely instructing, coaching and managing personnel in challenging environments from the High Arctic to the High Himalaya and from Africa to Antarctica.

GREENLAND - New Earth Films
On ‘Going North’ Phil used his extensive knowledge and experience of operating in polar environments to ensure the production team could safely operate and shoot their documentary series. Phil selected appropriate safe locations for filming and overnight camps, drove Ski Doos with back up safety equipment and managed safe glacier travel for the team.
ANTARCTICA - British Antarctic Survey
In Antarctica Phil provided safety and support services to British Antarctic Survey field scientists Paul Dennis (pictured) and Mike Dunn. Phil used his polar and mountaineering skills and experience to cross snow fields and glaciers on foot and on Ski Doo and assisted in collecting valuable scientific data for ongoing penguin monitoring and a new micro ecology study of Antarctic soil.
EVEREST (8,848m) - Tigress Productions / Discovery International
In addition to his role as high altitude cameraman on Series 2 of ‘Everest Beyond The Limit’ Phil trained and coached some of his production colleagues in the art of safe movement on fixed ropes at high altitude.
GREENLAND - Keo Films / BBC
In Greenland Phil was able to combine all his skills provide safety support to his production colleagues when he was not himself filming. Phil applied his mountaineering skills to cross crevassed glaciated terrain safely and drove the Ski Doos and also managed camp supplies and safety back up.
OMAN - Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)
In the searing deserts of Oman interior Phil worked with teams of local personnel laying seismic cables over mountainous terrain. Phil’s role was to ensure that the geological surveys could were conducted in a safe and coordinated manner.
International expeditions
